As a production assistant for In The Thick, a podcast for Futuro Media Group, Daniella produced conversations about race, identity and politics that are missing from the mainstream news. Her first freelance story, Breaking Down Bedroom Pop, was for LatinoUSA, where she talked about the struggles, experiences and accomplishments of Latinx artists that are making music within the bedroom pop genre and the music industry in general. Daniella has also worked as a production assistant for Elumina Media and helped produce LOUD: The History of Reggaeton as an intern. At Medill School of Journalism, she started a podcast with The Daily Northwestern called Sound Source, in which she mainly interviewed artists or dissected a specific one of their songs. In the past, Daniella also worked at The Chicago Reporter, an investigative newspaper that focuses on race and poverty, where she discovered her passion for writing about social justice issues. As a first generation Colombian, Daniella is also very passionate about Latinx culture, and she enjoys producing content that embraces that. Daniella is proficient in recording with an H5 recorder and editing audio with Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Descript and other editing platforms.
